Bing Webmaster Tools

Many local business websites have Google Search Console (Google Webmaster Tools), but many people ignore Bing Webmaster Tools. Bing still offers a rich source of data that should not be over looked.
Why Small Business Websites Should Not Ignore Bing Tools
Many people have used Google Search Console, but a lot of sites ignore Bing Webmaster Tools.
When thinking about Bing Tools, keep a couple of things in mind: 1 – Most websites should still be optimized to Google standards since they have the greatest market share. 2 – this is not an either/or decision. You should use Google Search Console, AND Bing Tools. So, If Google is still king, why worry about using Bing? For companies that need local marketing success, Bing still has a lot of traffic
If you have a website then Google is probably your biggest source of organic traffic. However, Bing is almost certainly your second-highest traffic provider. Even if Bing accounts for only 20 percent to 30 percent of your monthly organic traffic, would you be willing to lose that traffic, which may be generating leads or revenue? For local sites, that could mean losing 2 or 3 deals a month.
Bing Is Growing
Did you know that Bing powers Yahoo’s and AOL’s organic search results? The Yahoo agreementhas been in place since 2010. The AOL partnership started January, 2016. This means Bing’s reach is larger than what is usually cited. Even without Yahoo and AOL numbers, Bing’s market share has been increasing steadily every year for the past couple of years.
Bing Webmaster Tools offers unique data and tools
Bing Webmaster Tools provides additional site diagnostic reports and testing opportunities. Though the platform has many similar features and tools to Google Search Console, some features and tools can only be found in Bing. Either way, it’s helpful to use these tools to check your performance in Bing organic search and perhaps obtain data that Google has missed. Some of the ways I leverage Bing Webmaster Tools are as follows:
Monitor Site Security
Both Bing and Google have a security monitoring feature. Since neither is 100 percent perfect, it’s good to have multiple sources to review any malware issues.
Monitor Index Performance
Sometimes you may see crawl or index issues in Google. If you have Bing tools, you can use them to get a bigger idea of what may be causing the preformance issues. It will also let you know if it’s a Google-specific problem or if it involves all search engines. And remember that Bing includes Yahoo data also.
Bing has more tools that can help provide keyword ideas and on-page SEO recommendations.
Keyword Research Tool. This tool is very similar to the Google AdWords Keyword Planner tool. However, it provides organic keyword data versus paid data.
SEO Analyzer Tool. This tool provides SEO feedback and recommendations for the web page that is entered. It also provides an image of the page source, which is similar to the Fetch tool in Google Search Console.
The worst thing that will happen if you use both tools is that you will have more information on your website at your fingertips.
